Every week, the students look forward to knowing which will be the activity on Friday. Friday’s activities are the perfect moment to spend time with friends, connect with each other, practice English, relax, enjoy and learn about Canadian culture (places, games, history). Last Friday, the activity was karaoke. At first, I was apprehensive because I’m not a fan of karaoke. I’m not a good singer. However, I went with my best attitude. As always, I enjoyed sharing time with friends, classmates and teachers. We not only sang, but we also danced, ate, drank, spoke and laughed about funny situations. My opinion is that these kinds of activities help to practice and improve our skills to learn a new language, realize that learning a language can be a lot of fun and we recharge with good energy.

POV: I no longer study at Heartland but I feel a special connection with the staff and I still keep in touch with them. Thanks so much Heartland!!!

Heartland International School holds a special place in my heart. It feels like a second home, where I always find happiness. Friday activities are extra special because of the friendships we build and the meaningful experiences we share.

The karaoke party we had was a blast! With singing, snacking, and dancing. I am more of a shower singer, but during the karaoke party, our great entertainer Scott made us feel pretty confident, and we were able to sing without shyness even though it was not in our native language!

Between performances, we enjoyed a variety of yummy treats and chatted with each other. Laughter filled the room as we sang our favorite tunes and danced freely. In the end, it was an afternoon of unforgettable moments and shared joy. It is moments like these that make Heartland feel like the best place to be!

This last Friday activity was amazing – just the fact that we were all together in the same space, spending time with each other, singing and having fun with my friends was really good. Share the same space with the teachers was also really good because I felt we were connecting more than before from this activity, and I started to talk with people that I think I would never talk to.

I love these kind of activities because I feel more in touch with people around me. In addition, I just remember singing all the songs because my dear ex-teacher Scott suggested me to help others, especially in those moments when they don’t feel very confident.

Thanks for this kind of activity and I’m looking forward to take part in more activities like this.

Well, probably everyone agree that the beginning was pretty awkward and scary, lol. However, after some music I felt more excited, and then going there and singing didn’t seem so scary anymore. The best part was dancing. It makes the ambience so easy-going. The bottom line is: it was incredibly fun and memorable. Thank you Heartland for all the memories <3.

Awww, wow! For me, to attend this party was fruitful as that day I got some friends and meet new people even I came to know about different people with distinct backgrounds. I did not feel shy and done whatever I wanted. I would say that is the best day ever since I came to Canada, specifically I got chance to dance, which I enjoyed a lot Thanks to Heartland to give such moments. Next time, I will again take part in such kind of activities.
