My favorite book is Jane Eyre, by Charlotte Bronte. The book narrates the childhood and love story of a British girl whose name is Jane Eyer. Jane Eyer is an orphan. Her parents both died when she was a child, and she was adopted by her aunt, who was ruthless and severe and treated Jane Eyre badly. Jane was sent to a school where she was abused. When Jane grew up, she worked as a governess in a house where she met Mr. Rochester, who loved Jane deeply. Although Jane and Mr. Rochester loved each other, they could not get married, as Mr. Rochester had already had an insane wife. Jane left the house which was later destroyed by a fire. The fire was set by the insane wife, who died in the fire. Rochester also got hurt in the fire as he tried to save his wife from the fire. In the end, Jane and Rochester got married. The book shows how people viewed love and the traditional morality in England in the 19th century.
It is my favorite book, because Jane is a very strong, independent girl. She loves her friends and relatives. She always sacrifices to take care of people who she loves. She cherishes self-esteem more than love. And more importantly, in her opinion, everyone is equal. People should not be judged by their appearance and fortune. The ideas the book expresses have inspired numerous people in the world, including me.
