Klaus and friends at The Forks

“…there were Russian, Korean, Vietnamese and Taiwanese students sitting at the same table, exchanging the cultures and core values of their own just in English. It’s incredibly amazing, isn’t it?”

I thought I was just a traveler passing by Heartland for a short time and nothing would be kept in my mind. However, it has been an unforgotten memory for me.

I was going to carry out my traveling to the EU, but my English was not good enough to communicate with people while traveling. Therefore, I chose Heartland for my short-term study. At the beginning, I couldn’t express what I thought in English, not to mention communication. However, under the instruction of teachers, I gradually felt my progress and could use different way to express what I was thinking more clearly and fluently than before. On the other hand, I hung out with my friends from different countries and the moment that impressed me very much was that there were Russian, Korean, Vietnamese and Taiwanese students sitting at the same table, exchanging the cultures and core values of their own just in English. It’s incredibly amazing, isn’t it? The more we exchanged, the more interesting the English was. Finally, I conquered my fear of speaking English. What’s more, I made many friends around the world at Heartland. I’d never thought my time at Heartland would be much more enriched than I thought before I came.

All good things come to an end. However, the memories in Heartland will be kept in my mind forever and ever.
